Although William and Martha created the series, the four-person team of William, Martha, James, and Robert has authored all editions since the mid-2000s. Robert lives in the San Diego area.

James Sears is a pediatric doctor and a father father himself. Based out of the San Diego area, James is the son of William and Martha Sears, creators of the Sears Parenting Library. James, his parents, and his brother, Robert have authored all editions since the mid-2000s.
