Life, like the Mississippi River, is full of twists and turns. As Superintendent of the Mississippi District of the United Pentecostal Church International, David Tipton has regularly written communiqués that have been posted in the district magazine under the title: Mississippi Matters. This book was born out of his desire to share his thoughts and inspirational stories with those who still believe that there are things in this life that matter. David D. Tipton, Jr. was elected in April 2009 as the Superintendent for the Mississippi District United Pentecostal Church International. Prior to becoming Superintendent, he served in various ministerial capacities. He has been an Assistant Pastor, Pastor, State Director of North American Missions and Promotions Director for North American Missions of the UPCI. Reverend Tipton was born in Port St. Joe, Florida. He and his wife, Gwen, have four children: sons- Devonn, Damon, and Matthew and daughter, Rachel. They have ten grandchildren.
