Many teachers will readily supple ment the aims and the activities and thus add to the effective ness of their instruction and increase the interest of their students.

Since Composition and Rhetoric is designed for use in senior high-school classes, the plan of arrangement and the organization of material differ somewhat from that found in most textbooks for junior-high-school classes. The following brief Outline shows the general plan and the scope of the book.
