Excerpt from Lay Subsidy Roll, A. D. 1603, for the County of Worcester: Edited for the Worcestershire Historical Society

His Roll has come, among a number of old deeds, into the possession of Mr. F. 5. Pearson, a member of the Society, who has kindly allowed it to be printed. No copy of it is in the Record Office, and therefore it seemed well to print it at once, without waiting for the time when it would fall into its place in the series of Rolls which the Society is publishing in chronological order; if the present opportunity of publishing a roll in private hands is not seized, it may not be attainable when in the future it is wanted.
