The sea power of Britain was again supreme, all fear of invasion passed away when the British fleet asserted its power, and toward the end of 1804 there was at least a lull in military proceedings. Taylor now sought Oxford; he was matriculated at St. Ed mund Hall in that University, February 8th, 1805.
