The Birmingham Association of School Teachers invited me to read a paper on Edward Thring in the spring of 1888 in St. Edward's School. The subject chosen was, Edward Thring, Teacher and Poet. Time forbade the reading of more than the first part of the paper. Friends have expressed a wish to see it and the second part. Hence this publication.
