Spinal cord injury occurs in an individual they have the trunk, upper and lower limbs impairments and compromised sitting balance is a result they obtain Upper limb, trunk, and lower limb muscles impairments are caused by cervical injuries. An individual with spinal card injury suffers from of lot of impairments so we have to know the trunk activities for the trunk control. For the people with spinal cord injuries trunk activities on trunk control is very important for the sitting balance of an individual with the spinal card injury and for that we need to recover the trunk function in individual’s rehabilitation. The main objective of this study is to compare an individual with an able bodies and a spinal cord individuals posture control. To investigate the fluctuation of trunk and foot support effects on postural control during sitting balance of an individual. Six individuals who have spinal cord injury and ten able-bodied individuals to sit quietly are examined for 60 trials. And on the foot support surfaces and the seat the forces were exerted and by using two forces plate the forces were measured and by this measurement we get the pressure sway global centre and for each force plate we calculate the sway. The results demonstrate that an individual with cervical SCI have compromised sitting postural stability because they have atleast twice sways more than able-bodied individuals. The dominant mechanism contributes to the sitting postural stability differences between SCI and able bodied individual.
