A Syrup of the Bees (English Edition) by Francis William Bain is a luminous collection of romantic and mystical tales steeped in the atmosphere of legendary India. Written in Bain’s distinctive, lyrical prose, these stories unfold like jeweled dream-visions—where longing becomes destiny, beauty becomes ordeal, and love moves through enchantment, temptation, and revelation.
Blending the cadence of ancient storytelling with a sensuous, poetic voice, A Syrup of the Bees invites readers into palaces and forests, moonlit gardens and secret chambers, where gods and mortals, sages and lovers meet at the edge of wonder. Each narrative shimmers with symbolism and emotion, offering a reading experience that feels at once intimate and mythic, delicate and intense.
Ideal for readers who cherish classic literary fantasy, myth-inspired romance, and richly ornamented language, this timeless work showcases Francis William Bain at his most evocative—crafting tales that linger like perfume, and sweetness that, like its title, carries a hidden sting.
