David M. Mathis, DO, FASAM, DABAM, is a graduate of the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He received a bachelor of science in pharmacology from the University of Mississippi. As a psychiatrist, he specializes in treating addiction. He currently practices at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Mathis’s detox program helped decrease violence and incidences of suicide at the center.
He has also worked with clients dealing with opioid addictions as an associate with Mission Treatment Centers in Las Vegas. His undergraduate degree in pharmacy has greatly influenced the development of his approach to treating addiction. Mathis is a fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
