Keith Laumer (1925-1993) was an American science fiction writer and former diplomat whose professional experience informed his popular Retief series. Known for blending satire with high-energy adventure, Laumer also created the Bolo series of military science fiction tales. His work remains valued for its wit, narrative drive, and distinctive voice within mid-twentieth-century speculative fiction.
