Delores B. Lindsey, Ph.D is a retired Associate Professor from California State University San Marcos and works with educators to help them lead their classrooms, schools and districts on a journey toward cultural proficiency. Delores and her husband Randy, also a Corwin author, enjoy spending time with their five grandchildren in Louisiana, Mississippi, and California. Although she has retired from Institutions of Higher Education, Delores has not retired from the education profession. Recently, she served as Co-President of the California Association of Professors of Education Administration (CAPEA). She has co-authored six books with Corwin and continues as a full-time consultant with Corwin. Delores is a collaborative writer and co-learner with her coauthors of this text.
Jacqueline S. Thousand, Ph.D. is a professor in the special education teacher preparation and graduate programs at California State University San Marco. She has published four titles with Corwin, seven editions, and three Multimedia Kits that include facilitator guides and DVDs to provide professional development using her Corwin texts. She is an international teacher and systems change advocate who has authored hundreds of books, research articles, chapters, proceedings, and monographs on inclusive schooling, organizational change, co-teaching, differentiated instruction and universal design, cooperative teaching and learning, collaborative teaming, creative problem solving, and discipline with dignity. She is actively involved in international teacher education and inclusive education endeavors and serves on the editorial and advisory boards of several national and international journals and professional organizations. She is a collaborative writer and co-learner with her coauthors of this text.
Cynthia L. Jew, Ph.D. is a professor at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. She is co-author of Culturally Proficient Inquiry: A Lens for Identifying and Examining Education Gaps (Corwin, 2008). She serves as a consultant to the Santa Clarita Valley International Charter schools focusing on the areas of Student Support and Inclusiveness. She is a Licensed Psychologist and Certified School Psychologist. She has two daughters, Kiera and Jordyn, who is Deaf and wears Cochlear Implants.
