The Way Of The Cross: A Pathway To Life Everlasting

The Way of the Cross, or Stations of the Cross, is a long-standing devotional practice in the Church that brings the faithful into a very powerful empathy with the suffering Christ. This prayerful re-enactment of the final hours of the earthly ministry of Jesus can bring forth an understanding of the salvific quality in suffering and a realisation that the Way of the Cross can indeed be a pathway to the Everlasting Life - the life we attest belief to in the Apostles Creed. The meditations in THE WAY OF THE CROSS A Pathway to Everlasting Life are by St Francis of Assisi and Blessed John Henry Newman. The artistic depictions of each of the fourteen stations are by a wide variety of artist ranging from Duccio and Titian through to contempory artists such as Peter Howson.
