Carlos M. García, M.D. received his formal medical training at the University of Massachusetts, Medical School followed by an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Anesthesia, both at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After moving to the Tampa Bay area in 1985, he began his practice as an Anesthesiologist at Bayfront Medical Center, Northside Hospital and Physicians' Community Hospital. Over the years, while working in hospitals, he came to realize that traditional medicine was driven more by the profits of pharmaceutical companies and hospital corporations than it was on providing the patient with the best possible care. So in 1996, Dr. García redirected his medical focus to natural, alternative health care including holistic medicine, integrative cancer treatments, chelation therapy, bio-identical hormone replacement, IV vitamins and antioxidants, and weight loss. In all of these areas he uses natural, non-harmful alternatives versus synthetic, conventional treatments. In 2005 Dr. García received the nation’s highest award for practicing health care and rejecting traditional symptomatic treatment medicine or sick care. He was recognized with a federal raid, complete with bulletproof vests and semiautomatic weapons. Additionally, that year he was not invited to the White House Christmas Gala. Dr. García is currently the Director of Medicine at Utopia Wellness.
