CHAPTER 1

Please Forgive My Obsession

Please forgive my obsession.
There is just this one place
My heart belongs,
And when I am away,
My heart craves
For the love in the mist,
Mixed with the waves of the sea.

Please forgive my obsession.
I have nowhere else to go
Except for just this one place
Where I call home.
Where I take my shoes off,
And I watch the sky,
Layered in blue and white.

Please forgive my obsession.
I just have to let this one time
My heart to be impaled.
You already know the drill
By the arrow of the fire.

Your Time Has Come

You have arrived
To the light.
You did not think you would be here,
Past the imaginary line.
You stood alone, all by yourself,
And you waved to every passing train.
You heard a whisper,
"It's not your time."
You stood puzzled,
And you asked "Why?"
Today you stand tall.
The victory is yours.
You will be going home.
Your time has come.
You will no longer take anybody's word.
Your destiny is yours to decide.
You will no longer look back.
Time has come to turn the page.
Leave all your burdens, your hurt, and your tears
Down on the floor when you walk out.
They already have served their purpose;
They no longer belong to you.
Welcome the new day with your arms open.
Nothing will stop you; you're on fire.
Start painting on a brand-new canvas,
And pick the colors of a strawberry sunrise.

Just Like the First Time

I am so ready for your open arms.
You already know what I mean.
I can't wait now; it has been so long.
Once again I'll be your runaway child.
Do you know that there is not one second
That I don't think of your blue sea?
Do you know that I can't imagine life
Without coming back home to you?
I have seen your sunrises so many times
And the sunsets in a million colors.
I'll be back once again, back in your charm,
And you will greet me just like the first time.

Runaway Child

This is one of those times
When I come to you,
My darling,
And I know you will
Once again
Help me see things
From another angle.

You will put ease
To my aching heart.
You will hold me close.
You'll tell me,
"It's all right."

Will you ever say no
To my return home?
Will you ever deny
My undying love?

I am the chosen one
For having known you,
I no longer look back.
I belong with you.

Where else would I turn
When I faced the storm?
I walked to the sun
Like a runaway child.

Amorgos

Skies in pale blue.
Flowers are pink.
The sea like a glass,
Reflecting the sun.
Better look around,
Take it all in.
This will be the place
You'll be back to for peace.
In your mind you see
Distance doesn't exist.
This day is yours to live
Till eternity.

Just a Little Bit of Faith

All you needed was
Just a little bit of faith.
Did you know who walked beside you
At all those times when you slipped?
Did you know who watched over you
With each step you took?
Do you remember the wind,
How it made you feel?
Or the trees that grew
At the edge of the cliff?
Do you remember who you saw
When you walked inside?
Do you remember the smiles
Shared between you and him?
You did not doubt.
You did not turn around.
You did not see your way through,
But you kept on walking.

Monastery of Panagia
Hozoviatissa

I remember how I just wanted to give up.
But if I were meant to die, then this was the place.
I felt the love, the presence of God.
I was not going to go back down.

I took each step with peaceful prayers.
Please, God, take me just little further.
I know the reason behind these tears.
Please take me up to your safe heaven.

It got more peaceful as I got closer.
The sea behind me looked like a jewel.
I saw the flowers blooming in dirt,
And the soft wind was blowing, playing a tease.

Santorini

Don't you wish to run away
At any cost,
Far from home,
To live on the edge.
There is nothing to lose
And everything to gain
To live on the cliff
With nothing to hold onto.
Each day is a gift,
Unfolding itself to you,
Waiting for all to go down
With volcanic eruption.
There is nothing to lose
And everything to gain.
Life up on the hill,
With white, pink, and blue.

I Just Have Arrived

How could your heart
Be stolen by a land?
One moment you think you're fine;
Next moment you are suffocating.
And you have to cross the pond once again
For the surviving air to bring life to your bones.
You will stand there, most likely in the dark,
In the middle of famous square.
You will see people passing by.
Some will notice you, and some will pass by,
And you will question the possibility of a transparency.
The ancient creations that are still standing
Will renew your forgotten faith,
And the land that always welcomes you back
Will remind you of your undying roots.
Tears of bliss and not pain will wash your face.
You will know without doubt love is given freely.
You will say the words spoken by your mending heart,
"Once again in my home, from far away
I just have arrived."

Coming Home

Where is the beginning, and where is the end?
Where is the middle, or should I just run back?
Roller-coaster ride with hill hard to climb.
Deep valleys are far down,...
