Kurt Mähler is a Texas native whose roots include the Rio Grande Valley. Mähler and his wife Karen raised their five children in Afghanistan, engaging in community development and building friendships before they moved to the Arabian Peninsula, where Mähler became a university educator. For all of his teaching, writing, and community work, Mähler believes his most important accomplishments have been listening to people’s stories and telling his own stories in return.
