Michael Thorstensen is a photographic artist living in Laguna Beach, California. Mr. Thorstensen has had his artwork exhibited throughout Southern California, including the San Diego Art Institute, the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, The Millard Sheets Gallery, as well as Laguna Beach. His work have also been shown in Manhattan, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and at Boise State University, where one critic described his artwork as being “the most comical and simultaneously heartbreaking work in the show”. Mr. Thorstensen exhibits annually at the famous Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, California. For the several years now, the main focus with Mr. Thorstensen's photography has been discovering the possibilities of the digital darkroom. As a result, he has taken his photography to a whole new level of artistic expression, creating unique works of art. Mr. Thorstensen has lived in Laguna Beach for over two decades (he's originally from Utah), and considers it home. He enjoys life with his husband Jeffrey Clark and their Border Terrier, Bryce and Lakeland Terrier, Gertie.
