Ricky Thomas Gordon has served as a teacher and missionary with his wife, Sarah, and their 10 children in Japan for the past 28 years. Twenty-five years ago they founded Living Way Church in Shizuoka city and continue to serve as the pastors of this growing international congregation. They work together both in the church and with Loving Decisions, a ministry dedicated to helping women and children in crisis. In addition to their own children they have frequently provided foster care for six to eight infants and toddlers at a time in their home. He has traveled and ministered extensively in India, Indonesia, and other parts of Asia. His involvement with so many people of diverse races, cultures and socio-economic levels gives him unique insight into the complexities of human relationships and the stresses that come with such interactions.
