Richard Morgan grew up in Newburgh, New York, a small city 60 miles north of Manhattan. “I remember when I was in Sunday School, Mrs. Mansfield made us memorize the Ten Commandments. I don’t recall any discussion of what they meant.” Richard continued studying through bar mitzvah and never stopped. His search took him beyond Judaism to other religious and spiritual philosophies. While at the Omega Institute in upstate New York, he lunched unforgettably with Huston Smith, the renowned author of World’s Religions – A Guide to Our Wisdom Traditions. After 40 years in education as a teacher and administrator, Richard enjoys coaching personal poetry because he believes there is poetry in everyone. In his workshops, he encourages participants to write their feelings using words that dance well with each other.
