What do you do when God or the circumstances around you don’t make sense? While originally intended to serve as a devotional to bring encouragement to persevere in our journey of faith, many have effectively used Running with the Grasshoppers to facilitate group bible study. With that knowledge, this study guide has been developed based on notes from a 15 week bible study by the author. The purpose of this guide is to help us dig deeper into each of these bible stories; to explore God’s truth, and find the encouragement God has for us to stand firm in our faith, especially in those circumstances that don’t make sense. If you have read Running with the Grasshoppers, you know that each chapter demonstrates an expression of faith found in the life of another; a person with the same weaknesses, doubts, fears, frustrations, difficulties, and temptations we all face. How often do we read familiar Bible stories and forget that they were people just like us? With the proper perspective, we understand they were ordinary people with an extraordinary God. You will find this guide effective for individual study or as a resource for leading a group bible study.
