Upon the publication of the first edition of "The Traveling Professor's Guide to Paris", Professor Steve Solosky retired from his full-time teaching position with the State University of New York system. He has officially been granted the status of “Professor Emeritus” and now pursues a second career as "The Traveling Professor".
Besides being an overwhelming success, the first edition of "The Traveling Professor's Guide to Paris" produced an unexpected result: readers of the book asked The Professor to guide them on tours to Paris. Since then, Professor Solosky has led hundreds of travelers on tours of his favorite city. Travelers clamored for more and now Steve leads tours not only to Paris, but to Italy, Spain, Peru & Machu Picchu. The story of Steve’s new-found career was found to be so compelling it was featured in The Wall Street Journal.
Steve is in demand as a speaker and travel writer. His highly-regarded website, www.travelingprofessor.com is “the place to go” for those seeking information on travel to Europe, Peru & Machu Picchu.
Readers like Steve's easy writing style and compact format. He gets right to the point to tell travelers what they need to know to enjoy their tours while saving money and time.
When not living out of a suitcase, Steve enjoys his home in the bucolic Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. He travels frequently to Dallas, Washington DC, and New York. Internationally, he enjoys Europe as well as South America. His favorite city is Paris, of course. Steve volunteers his time and efforts to Quaker Bolivia Link (www.qbl.org). He is on the Board of Directors of this charitable organization dedicated to helping the impoverished people of Bolivia.
