This is an alternate reality in which the timeline of the Earth is the same as our own, at least up until the year 2000. Due to a series of seemingly random events which culminated with the coming of the Mist in 2006, our world has been reintroduced to the magic of old and to the reality of psionics. The presence of these forces has caused the political and societal structures of the world to change in order to accommodate, embrace, or reject the new groups of people who can now tap into the renewed concepts of Magic and Psionics: the animal-like Altered, the subtle magic-using Dreamers, the technologically-inclined and psionically-aware Technos, the covert and manipulative Psions, the power-crazed Mages, and the fortuitous and willful Unaffected. The system is percentiles based, with combat running mostly on d6’s.
