The man ate the sourdough flapjacks hungrily devouring the venison gravy soaked meal, stuffing the flat round cakes into his mouth satisfying his wolfish craving. He took another bite of the wonderful mixture letting it linger in his mouth savoring the meal's wonderful flavor, scraping the last little bit of food from the enamel plate with his fork. He then licked the remaining gravy from the plate like a hungry dog. The frying venison sizzling in the cast iron skillet was penetrating his nostrils, alluring him, as were the soda biscuits that were cooking in the Dutch oven on top of the small wood cook stove. He pushed back his chair from the log table, stood up, walked over to the stove reached over and pulled off the lid of the Dutch oven, dropping it as he burnt his fingers...
