A Little Girls Christmas Wish

The little girl sat quietly Beneath the Christmas tree She closed her eyes then prayed to God. And said, “It’s not for me. I know I shouldn’t ask you, God, But as it’s Christmas time, Tonight it’s Jesus’ Birthday so I hoped you wouldn’t mind.

“I have a little brother, God, I’m sure you know him well He wants to stand up on his feet, But on the day he fell His little back was broken, God, His leg muscles went slack Now all he wants is one more chance To get the feelings back..........

I was born in Ipswich Suffolk, U.K. and at six years of age my parents moved us to Gillingham in Kent. From there we moved to Southampton in Hampshire. We have lived in Spain for the last ten years, learning the language and meeting many interesting people. We have recently moved back to England to be closer to our growing family. I started writing at an early age, but only recently began to write seriously. I have a book of children's stories, fully illustrated and all in rhyme, called 'Hedgerow Capers' which was published by Melrose Press. I have now self-published 'A Collection of Short Stories' a book of short coffee-time stories for adults and have released my first book of poems 'Spiritual Moments'. At present I am working on a new children's book that I hope to publish in time for Christmas.
