Kajiya’s been destined to lead her tribe since birth, and she can hardly wait. There’s just one little problem. She’s a girl. But despite the heavy opposition from the Assembly, the high council that keeps the tribes’ leaders accountable, Kajiya is only too determined to take her place among the Magiks. However, when she has a momentary lapse of judgement, the damage takes its toll on her dreams. She finds herself an outcast, joined only by her brother, Resurge and two best friends, Gaorun and Ainee. With them beside her, Kajiya must regain her honour, while truly learning how to lead. Of course, that’s never an easy task when a group of highly skilled warriors is trying to kill you.

Laura Thornton is an avid teenage writer, she enjoys role-playing in her spare time, or playing with one of her two cats, Anabell or Amber. She grew up in beautiful British Columbia, where she attended high school, and met many of her inspirations. She first wrote her first book when she was twelve; it had a total of fifty pages, and a lot of errors. Nevertheless, it hooked her onto writing, and she hasn’t looked back. She has developed an immense love for role-playing, and has even created her own role-playing site. She enjoys it as it is not only recreational, but good practice for her writing skills. When she’s not role-playing or writing, she’s often drawing or watching anime to help her practice her Japanese skills. Often she can also be found studying the Bible and its teachings, for she places her faith in God, and wants to know Him better each day.
