Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Philip K. Dick was one of the most influential science fiction writers of the twentieth century, known for stories and novels that questioned reality, identity, memory, authority, and the fragile boundary between the human and the artificial. Born in Chicago in 1928 and raised largely in California, Dick became a central figure in postwar American science fiction, publishing a remarkable body of short fiction and novels that combined pulp energy with philosophical unease and psychological depth. His best-known works include The Man in the High Castle, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Ubik, A Scanner Darkly, Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. Many of his works have inspired major films and television adaptations, including Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report, The Man in the High Castle, and A Scanner Darkly. Dick's fiction remains especially powerful because it turns science-fiction ideas inward, asking not only what the future may look like, but how anyone can know what is real.
