You are invited to meet the Women of AngelFire – a novel series, in which the characters include a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural company of kindred spirits, who meet annually for a retreat in the pristine mountains of northern New Mexico. Although the company of friends arrives with intentions to console their host, who is grieving over the tragic loss of her husband, each soon reveals her own crisis, placing all at turning points in their own lives. Their individual quandaries are challenged by their collective wisdom, buoyed by a sense of humor, and encouraged through transformational insights and revelations. Each is given a golden opportunity through the beneficence of love.

Originally written as a tribute to long term friendships, the series has evolved into something more. Each of the female characters represents different aspects of the feminine nature as taught by the late Ann Meyer-Makeever, D.D., who also taught me that there is a loving answer to every question. Best-selling novelist Anne Lamott once stated in an interview that everyone she knows becomes a character in her books, yet to date, no one has ever recognized themselves. The Women of AngelFire are loosely based on some of my own long term friendships. Acceptance and respect of each other’s individuality, wisdom, and choices, are the keys to the longevity of these relationships. My hope for the reader is that you too, have heart-centered women friends with whom you can laugh, cry and sing. May your friends love and support you as my friends have done for me and as The Women of AngelFire do for each other.
