When Lisa Mann inherits an old house, she asks history teacher Ian West to help her evaluate the documents found there. A history graduate with 35 years teaching experience, I decided to try my hand at writing when, like my hero Ian West, my marriage collapsed. I have always thought that the best history teachers were good storytellers, Nothing Left to Lose is my first attempt at an historical thriller. I have always been fascinated by the idea of history coming back to bite you in the present and so that was the concept that inspired me. I am currently putting the finishing touches to a sequel, The Price of Loss based in part in the turmoil of the Russian Revolution, which should be available in the autumn.
