Mark Govier, was born in the UK, his education including a degree in Chinese Politics. He is widely travelled, with six months spent mainly in the western provinces of China. He is an accomplished writer with a number of articles and a range of poetry published in magazines and journals. Several plays he has written, have been performed in London, however The Trials of Nian Gao is his debut novel.
