James Rushing, a lifelong resident of Hueytown, Al. is a graduate of Hueytown High School and Troy University. He was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure in June 2011 and is on disability retirement. His talent for writing, especially poetry, is an inspirational and motivational tool utilized to motivate people to stop and think about their life both mortal and eternal. After encouragement by his family and friends, Mr. Rushing decided to publish his poems to assist him in his quest to "Speak the Truth" and spread God's messages. There is also a section that contains lyrics for songs which are presently being collaberated with a musician for recording and hopefully release later along with documents explaining the LVAD (heart pump) and its role in keeping Mr. Rushing alive along with a few of the problems associated with this life. Mr. Rushing's LVAD is a "Bridge to Destination" which means that he will have the pump until he dies. God is Good.
