Meet Eddie Felson: a young pool hustler who's keen on winning big and beating the best. So far, he's been earning decent stakes hustling small-town players, but there's no pride in beating fools. In order to test himself against the best, Eddie seeks out the legendary Minnesota Fats in a smoky poolroom in Chicago. Over more than forty hours of high-stakes pool, they test their wits and guts against one another, with the scrapheap in store for the loser. What Eddie learns in this contest, however, is more than he'd ever banked on.Biografía del autor:
Walter Tevis was an American novelist and short story writer. Whilst a student at the University of Kentucky, Tevis worked in a pool hall and published a story about the game for an English class. Among his other works, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH (1963) and MOCKINGBIRD (1980) are considered masterpieces of science fiction. Tevis died in 1984.
