Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 1 INDIAN CAVALRY DIVISION Divisional Troops 1 Brigade Royal Horse Artillery, covering February 1915 to December 1916 across 156 pages. It names 45 places across 64 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries four reports, narratives and plans, twelve appendices, seven maps and one diagram. Among the papers are: Appendix II instructions for Action 8th Division and attached Artillery; Appendix IV B instructions for VII Division and attached Artillery; Instructions for VII Divisional and attached Artillery for 12th March 1915; Special order. The diary opens at Ypres on 1 February 1915. 1915 is spent at Rue De Paradis-Laventie, Ypres, Croquoison, La Haie Surcamps and Rubrouck. 1916 at Quoeux, Maroeuil, Offeux, Ligescourt and Beauchamps. It closes at St Valery sur Somme on 31 December 1916. Quoeux is where it spent longest, 59 days across three separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Maroeuil. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Chateau La Preule. In 1915 it is also recorded at Following Daily N. Fonts Were, Norrent Fontes, Lavantie, Fleurbaix, La Croix Lescornex Fleurbaix, Watau, Gorre, Reference 1/10,000 Illies-Viollaines Festibert, 1/2 Miles W Of Festubert and Quiestede. In 1916 it is also recorded at Millencourt, Doullens, Bouvoir Riviere, Wavans, Trois Maison Maroeuil, Rebreuve, Bealcourt, Frechencourt, Allenville and Ville sur Ancre.
