Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Alexander Gustafsson was raised in Arboga, a small town in Sweden by his father, a farmer.

His troubled and complicated youth led to him often ending up in fights as a teenager and aged 18 he was sentenced to prison for aggravated assault. One year later when he was released he decided to turn his life around; finding mixed martial arts, moving to another city and leaving the trouble behind him.

He has widely credited MMA as being the movement that finally changed his life for the better.

This is his first book.

Von der hinteren Coverseite

'Several times when I hit him with punches I only saw the whites of his eyes. But then he put in a new gear and drove four-wheel drive like a damn truck.'

Nicknamed The Mauler, due to his power, killer instinct and recklessness whilst fighting; this is the story of Gustafsson's struggle to work his way up in the ranks of the UFC and to succeed in one of the world's most challenging sports.

The Mauler is a frank and at times painful account of a young man rapidly heading off the rails, and of his fight to reach the top of his game in an effort to change his life forever.'
