This book contains 10 survey papers emerging from the lectures given in conjunction with a July 2015 conference held at the University of Utah. The papers are intended to help graduate students and new researchers understand developments in algebraic geometry. Papers strive for informal tone in order to be accessible to graduate students with basic background in algebraic geometry. Each paper discusses a different subfield of algebraic geometry that has seen significant progress in the past 10 years, such as birational geometry of moduli spaces of sheaves, Gromov-Witten theory, degenerations of Hodge structure, and unstable motivic homotopy theory.
