The Volunteer Shelf Life: A No Fault Look at Volunteer Retention and the Reasons Volunteers Leave - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Gregg was the perfect volunteer. Prompt and professional, he was the go to guy at his organization until one day, Gregg was gone.Just like the many other volunteer examples in this book, Gregg had reached his shelf life. Through real stories, author Meridian Swift examines the many reasons volunteers leave. Challenging volunteer managers to rethink volunteer retention, Swift argues the case for offering quality over quantity. By rejecting the idea that when volunteers leave, it is always the volunteer manager's fault, Swift takes real situations and offers constructive lessons learned from each departure. Written in a conversational style, volunteer managers, both part time and full time will be able to apply these lessons to their own pool of volunteers.
