Based on historic fact, this novel follows the lives of people who are related in the most unlikely of ways, from their earliest beginnings until today. It is the story of natural catastrophe; of love, hate, murder and redemption. Through war and slavery, exploration and adventure; it is the story of the goodness of humanity and the cold, unfeeling evil of the sociopath. In the final analysis, it is our story, the story of us all, and how, often through serendipity, we are who we are today.
