Dan Schaefer, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and management consultant, assisting individuals and corporations with strategies for performance enhancement, stress management, and the reduction of the impact of loss and life transition in the workplace. How Do We Tell the Children, now in its fourth edition, is drawn from Dan's experience in assisting individuals in acute grief.Dr. Schaefer has served as a guest faculty member at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, and the graduate schools of New York University, Adelphi, Rutgers, and Hofstra University. He is a consultant to national, state, and local agencies, including the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, New York City Board of Education, New Jersey League of Municipalities, Veterans Administration Health Care System, Survivors of the Shield, and TAPS, an organization serving survivors of military loss. Dan is also a member of the American Society of Training and Development and the Institute of Management Consultants.
