About The Author: The author was born in Boston and attended Trinity College Connecticut, gaing a degree in Italian. After a period teaching in the Boston area she went travelling around Europe, choosing finally to settle in the United Kingdom. After living in the East End of London for a while she then went to live in Rye on the East Sussex coast. For the past twenty years she has, aside to bringing up a family, been closely involved in the academic world, initially gaining her Masters and then a Doctorate later followed by teaching roles at both the universities of Middlesex and Kent. She does additional teaching within her local community, focusing on authors of the nineteenth century who lived in the area such as Henry James. Outside of the academic world of teaching and research she continues to write fiction, drawing on her experiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
