Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Frida Kahlo (1907–1954), the renowned Mexican painter, is celebrated for her portraits, self-portraits, and works that reflects the vibrant culture and artifacts of Mexico. Inspired by the country’s popular traditions and culture, Frida employed a naive folk-art style to explore questions of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society. Her paintings often intertwine strong autobiographical elements, incorporating realism with fantasy elements that reveal her personal journey.
