A lost cipher. A race against time to decode it. Marine archaeologists Kate Wetherall and Lou Bates are diving a shipwreck near Howland Island - a remote dot in the vast Pacific Ocean - when a deep-sea explosion unearths the remains of a plane on the ocean floor. It is a plane last seen in 1937 - with Amelia Earhart at the controls.
