John Anthony Adams is an orange grower/soil scientist/author. He has a PhD in soil science, and has had three books published previously. These are Dirt, a popularized science book about soil, Dangling from the Golden Gate Bridge and other Narrow Escapes, about very unusual narrow escapes from death, and Rialto, a photo history of Rialto, California. Ronnie Featherstone has had a career as a driver of heavy construction equipment and trucks and also has worked as a security guard at Harra's Casino at Laughlin, Nevada. He had an unusually adventurous boyhood and is a gifted story teller.
