Operative Surgery appears in its second edition after having been carefully and thoroughly revised. Many instructive illustrations and much new and interesting descriptive matter have been added. In the section upon the abdomen the subjects of gastroenterostomy and the surgical treatment of diseases of the stomach and intestines have been treated in minute detail. The operative surgery of the pancreas, spleen, etc., has also been described at length. The recent advances in the surgery of the prostate gland have received due consideration in the revision of the section upon the urinary organs.
