Nine Attempts - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

When science teacher Win Mitchell opens a fortune cookie to read that nine attempts on his life are coming, he naturally dismisses the warning as a sick joke. When he's thereafter struck by lightning, he realizes he'd better take the warning seriously, even if his attacker seems to be nature itself. With help from his would-be boyfriend Casey and the beautiful new school librarian Suzanne Dadlow, Win sets off to prevent eight more attempts on his life from succeeding and, more urgently, to keep self-proclaimed gods from stunting man's understanding of the world around him. This well-written and fast-paced novel follows one man's gradual comprehension of his universe, his fate, and his own mysterious heart.
