Gwilliam s rare combination of soul-baring humility and powerful competence enables him to share both the personally tragic and the publicly triumphant events of his life as he describes the struggles of failures and depression over cases lost to the amazing winnings of trials against America s biggest companies. The book is remarkably open and candid, a microcosmic, intimate view into the heart of a man and the life long search for his soul. The book puts a human face to our preconceived idea of what we ordinarily consider the personality of a professional lawyer. It is fun, funny, reads like a novel, and is sure to jump-start every one of your emotions. The book is special because it not only describes the inner turmoil a lawyer experiences in striving to win a verdict for a client and the depression and loss felt when a case is lost, but also the personal struggle to find purpose and meaning in his own life. It is full of powerful emotions, at the same time, lots of humor and stories everyone can relate to.
