Kristin Van Marter Souers is a licensed mental-health clinician and has more than 30 years of experience teaching, coaching, training, and consulting in a multitude of settings. In addition to co-authoring The Fostering Resilience Workbook: Strategies and Steps to Support Our Learners, Elementary Edition with Keith Orchard and Pete Hall, she is the lead author (with Pete Hall) of two revolutionary, bestselling ASCD books on childhood trauma and stress: Fostering Resilient Learners: Strategies for Creating a Trauma-Sensitive Classroom and Relationship, Responsibility, and Regulation: Trauma-Invested Practices for Fostering Resilient Learners. She is also the author of the first in a series of children's books to come: 10 Things Our Brains Need.
Keith Orchard is an experienced social worker and the current mental health facilitator in the Coeur d'Alene School District in Idaho. He has worked as a Peace Corps volunteer, educator, youth ranch coordinator, family counselor on a Marine Corps base, and sports coach. He is co-author, with Kristin Van Marter Souers and Pete Hall, of The Fostering Resilience Workbook: Strategies and Steps to Support Our Learners, Elementary Edition. Keith has worked alongside Kristin and Pete in providing professional development and coaching support to educators since 2018.
Pete Hall is an award-winning school principal and author or co-author of 12 books, including Fostering Resilient Learners and Relationship, Responsibility, and Regulation with Kristin Van Marter Souers and his recent social psychology life guide, Always Strive to Be a Better You: How Ordinary People Can Live Extraordinary Lives. He is also co-author, with Kristin Van Marter Souers and Keith Orchard, of The Fostering Resilience Workbook: Strategies and Steps to Support Our Learners, Elementary Edition.
