Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Steve Garner is Professor of Critical Race Studies and Head of the Department of Criminology and Sociology at Birmingham City University, UK. He has published widely on whiteness, as well as racism and its intersection with class and nation in a variety of geographical contexts, such as England, Ireland, the USA, and Guyana. He is the author of A Moral Economy of Whiteness (2015) and Whiteness: an introduction (Routledge, 2007); and Racism in the Irish Experience (2004) as well as numerous book chapters and articles in such journals as Ethnic and Racial Studies, Ethnicities, and Sociology. He is currently working on skin lightening practices and discourses.
