Susan E. Israel is an assistant professor of reading and educational psychology at the University of Dayton. Her research agenda focuses on reading comprehension, child-mind development as it relates to literacy processes in reading and writing, literacy ethics, and collaborative student-faculty research. She was awarded the 2005 Panhellenic Council Outstanding Professor Award at the University of Dayton. She has worked with the Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame. Israel was the 1998 recipient of the teacher-researcher grant from the International Reading Association, where she has served and been a member for over a decade.
