Deepak Verma's first play, Pool Of Tranquility, was selected in the finals of the Royal Court Young People's Festival in 1992. That led to a BBC Radio 4 commission to write a play based on the life of India's most famous bandit, Phoolan Devi. Since then he has written plays for Radio 4, the BBC World Service and has had a play read at the Kings Head theatre, Islington. Deepak Verma's stage adaptation Ghost Dancing, based on Émile Zola's Thérèse Raquin, was published by Methuen Drama in 2001.

Felix Cross is the Artistic Director of NITRO (formerly Black Theatre Co-op). Prior to joining NITRO, Cross was a freelance playwright, composer and director. For NITRO he has written, composed, directed or produced many shows and festivals including Slamdunk, A NITRO at the Opera, and Passports to the Promised Land. He is a member of the Stabilisation Panel at the Arts Council, England and the BRIT Panel and was a previous member of both the Arts Council's Music and Touring Panels as well as numerous committees and ad hoc groups for the ACE. He chairs many conferences and seminars for organisations ranging from Equity to ITC and has written numerous papers and articles for conferences and journals, particularly on issues of cultural diversity and the arts.
