Doctor Who: One Night Only (A Fela Kuti Story): The Fourth Doctor meets a musical icon in the next instalment of a series starring inspiring characters from history (The Icons Series, 4) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

'Ingenious, funny and gripping all at once. A perfect Who story.' Adrian Tchaikovsky, multiple award-winning author of Children of Time.

Sarah Jane doesn't know who she is any more.

She's applied for a job as a secretary at a run-of-the-mill office, with just one other co-worker.

He’s nice enough. A little strange, a little charming, clearly an innovator. For a snappy dresser, though (Sarah loves the scarf) he’s strangely quiet.

That’s because, of course, he’s the Doctor. Working with UNIT to try to restore Sarah’s memories, he’s found himself battling an alien group harvesting the minds of unsuspecting victims.

But he’s already on the back foot, and as the alien hive mind draws in its followers, he’s very much in need of a friend.

Enter legendary musician Fela Kuti. Another innovator – just as challenging, and just as charming. He might just be the one the save the human race.

'Thompson strikes a power chord, blending wide-ranging and authentic resonances of the summer of '76 with an exploration of classic Who themes [ . . .] A story to hook established and recent fans alike.' Juliet E McKenna, author of The Green Man's Heir series

'Exquisite characterisations of the Doctor and his companions, [a] gem of a story' Una McCormack, award-winning author of Doctor Who: Caged

'A pitch perfect rendition of Tom Baker's Doctor and his friends. Splendid, poetic, nostalgic, radical stuff!' Paul Cornell, Author of Doctor Who: Human Nature
