Nous avons entendu le savant et judicieux M. Ampère exprimer la même opinion dans son cours, en témoignant son éton nement de ce que l'auteur de la Gran deur et décadence des Romains n'avait fait aucune mention,' dans les éditions postérieures de son ouvrage, de travaux aussi remarquables que ceux de Beau fort.
