The gross receipts from the items of revenue given in the above table were, in 1846, in 1847, in 1848, in 1849, in 1850, in 1851, in 1852, and the increase of the last over the first year named, comprising a period of seven years, was only whilst, the decrease of the last year, upon the returns for the year 1851, has been shown to be $13, It will also be perceived that there is a falling off, as compared with the receipts for 1849; and, but a small increase over those of 1850.
